The game?

At a networking event – in public or in company – you are not allowed to say anything about yourself – every conversation must be about the person or people you are with.

It’s all about them, not you.

It’s tough – when I first played it was hell. I lasted just over 5 minutes, before I simply HAD to share my story.

If you can keep going for longer than that, the rewards are amazing. It is the very opposite of what people most often do, which goes something like:

“Anyway, enough about me, let’s talk about you. What do you think of me?”

A few weeks later, on my third attempt, I managed over 10 minutes with the first person I met – listening, asking questions and generally paying attention as if my life depended on it.

I had feedback later from others that this person had “loved speaking with me and learning all about Naked Leader.”

And I had said nothing about myself or us!
