Thank you to the individuals and organisations, who have contacted us to see how they can help the princes trust.
I believe there are many young people with so much to offer being overlooked and struggling to have confidence and be given a chance.
When my son went for a Saturday job in a clothes shop at 16 he had to present to a fairly large group group, show leadership skills and other things you would of once excepted for a full time job.
luckily for him he had done drama and didn’t find it too much, but I felt for the ones who have it in them but need the opportunity of getting a Saturday job to then gain confidence and grow.
I have been a volunteer at the YMCA and been around young people, and it is difficult for them with the current pressure of qualifications, lack of jobs they can get and due to renting prices etc, the cost of living independently seems impossible even with a job.
They need someone to listen and guide them. In this fast paced world were everyone seems so busy, if we could all do something however small to help our young people it would make for a much happier future.
I agree, Jackie, the young kids today are asked to do so much to get a job.
Quite daunting for them and worrying for parents!
I fear for jobs in the next 10 years as technology takes hold.
There will be less need for human interaction in any role.
Where will that leave youngsters?
Agree Cynthia… Just come back form Spain and the tolls no longer have people, just machines.
In France a small food shop and turned into an open space with vending machines containing a variety of foods.
A couple of examples of replacing people. I assume all these things save money in the long run, but to what cost.
I have to add at Gatwick the electronic passport checker was a lot slower than the human checkers!
Young people should be given the chance to express themselves and given a platform to deliver their talents.
To have to go through hoops to get a Saturday job is not really on.
Prince’s Trust should be applauded. They do a great job.
