founder of naked leader
AT the Naked Leader it is not the thinking that excites, it is the doing.
Which is why Duncan Bannatyne’s book Wake Up and Change Your Life is so appealing.
In it, the Dragon’s Den star invites people to do just that which is therefore doing away with procrastinating, while explaining to people how they can take action.
He talks about the ideal entrepreneur as someone who shares the best qualities from like-minded people.
The ability to focus on what is important, is key.
His simple ‘take a sheet of paper’ method is effective, inviting you to write down what your business does, what excites you most about it and what you want out of it.
Looking at that bit of paper from time to time, whether it be in the top drawer of your desk or pinned on a wall, is as excellent reminder of why you are there and what decisions you need to make to ensure you do.
The ability to sell comes next, and making sure you are selling to the right people is the first priority, those you have identified as needing your product. It is important also to ensure you speak to a person who has the power in the company you are selling to, to say ‘yes’.
Having the capacity to inspire is crucial too – being able to share your vision for your business to employees, who in turn can pass on that inspiration in the work they do, making them as confident in your business as you are.
So, know your product and ethos, inside out, be positive and show desire.
Managing people and data, in that order, are also vital ingredients, setting achievable targets, manageable deadlines, while delegating and leaving people to get on with what you pay them for.
Having the ability to see things through is also paramount to good entrepreneurship.
Success can be determined by four factors – skills, attributes, contacts and your environment.
Identifying and maximising the building blocks of success that are all around you, and within you, are what makes the best entrepreneur.
As the title on a previous Duncan Bannatyne’s book suggests, ‘Anyone Can Do It‘. So why not you?
