When Saturday Comes…

This Saturday Woking Football Club plays our first fixture in the Blue Square Premier league (known as The Conference, one below league level and the top of the non-league pyramid).

Why is this such a big deal?

For me – Because as Chairman everything I have been working for comes down to the next three seasons

For you? – Because now I can be judged – by you please – on whether this Naked Leader stuff works…and I invite you, nay, I urge you, to do just that

So, applying the formula for guaranteed success:

Know where we want to go – Key element – Ambition:

To be promoted to the football league, and stay there

 Know where we are now – Key element – Ownership:

 As I have publicly stated, if we do not achieve promotion within three seasons (by season 2010-11) I will resign as Chairman

 Know what we have to do, to get to where we want to go: – Key element – True Decisions:

As well as scoring more goals than our opponents!

Our Four Cornerstones

Community – To be the exemplar sports community club, at the heart of football in Woking and Surrey, with a stadium worthy of our name, our supporters and of our community.

Involvement – To encourage more people to play, watch and be involved in football. On playing, our youth is our cornerstone.

Kingfield (our home ground) – The Kingfield experience to be the best in the league, on and off the pitch. Our supporters are our customers, the lifeblood of our club.

Business – To be recognised as one of the most important and well run businesses in Surrey.

 And now, we start to do it!
