Last Saturday I met Bob Lucas, President of Weymouth FC. I asked him how he was; he replied “I am really well, and very lucky to be alive. I am enjoying my family, my friends and my football.” I thought this was a very positive answer, only to discover that he has advanced prostate cancer which has spread throughout his body.

He has just months to live.

I asked if I could write about him in this NL Week – he asked me why anyone would be interested!

Well Bob, people will be very interested in what keeps you going – as you said it to me, so I will pass it on, and ask everyone to pass it on – count your blessings, and do so today.
