Today is my brother’s birthday…

I have a big brother called Alan, two years older than me – well, three as of today!

He moved to Australia some years back, and lives with his wife and three children on the Sunshine Coast.

A few years ago, we had a bit of a family fallout, for reasons I won’t share here, suffice to say that as always with these things, sides get taken, emotions rule the day and people say and do things they later regret.

Now, many years later, I am pleased to say our family is reconciled.

My point of sharing this is simple – Alan and I have always had our differences, we fought when we were young, we were fiercely competitive when we were teenagers, we even went to rival Universities – however throughout it all, what we had in common was far stronger than anything else – we were, are and always will be, family.

Actually, we won’t “always will be” – as neither of us will live forever.

So, I invite you, I urge you, I implore urge – if you have a member of your family that you would like to reconnect with, call, write, visit…

No big deal needed – “how’s it going?” is a great text to send

Please, do it today, before it is too late.

Because one day, it will be.

And Happy Birthday Alan, and just between you and I, always know how much I love you
