3 Little Known Persuasion Tips
1. When you are under pressure with a question, or want to change the subject – during a pause say:
“Actually…” then followed by your comments
Example – You are asked who in your team is to blame for something
You pause and respond “Actually, the bigger issue we all face is…”
2. When explaining something complex use an analogy with these words:
“It’s kinda like”…followed by the analogy
Example: A Multiverse in business is kinda like a Disney theme park…
3. To change someone’s state – especially if they are upset
Say something totally irrelevant to the reason they are feeling low
Example: John, A team member is angry with themselves because they can’t seem to work something out – they come to you in an agitated state
You say: Hold on John, before we talk about that, come and have a look at this…
After you have shown them something completely different, say to them:
“Sorry John, you were saying?” They will then be in a calmer state to explain their issue
