It will be as a role model for you and I to break free from our self-imposed limitations, before we no longer have the choice to do so…
My favourite quote taken from Steve Jobs’ Stanford University Commencement address – June 12, 2005
“Remembering that you are going to die, is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart”
Please watch the whole speech – the man was an inspiration and will be for eons to come. He was easy to listen to, speaking simply, from the heart and in my case – straight to the heart. If you don’t have time right now – DO make time when you get home before you switch on the tele and let Steve have one more (even bigger) impact on your life.

Whilst I am a huge fan of Steve Jobs (and Apple) I think it important to recognise that he has feet of clay. Not to pull him down but to put him on even firmer foundations! Doing so will lessen the fire of his detractors.
I’d appreciate some guidance on how I should follow my heart and how I balance doing what I would love to do with the responsibilities I have. If I couldn’t fail, I know exaclty what I’d do with my life, my challenge is how I do it from where I currently am. I can’t simply give up my current job as I feel I do have too much to lose.
Any thoughts would be very welcome.
He was a great man, and his ethos will stand the test of time. I love the way he wants graduates to go and find themselves and not to waste a minute of time in living life.
That was awe inspiring to listen to.
And very poignant as he said he had got over the illness.
In my experience it will always come back. It’s horrible. But Steve’s legacy will live on. He was a wonderful ambassador for hope.
The man was a legend and always will be.
Asking people to make the most of what they’ve got in life is sound advice. Great speech.
To do what he did and achieve what he achieved, in those circumstance, is a real true reflection of the man.
He had the right name as he was always doing jobs….big ones that changed the world!
Wonderful speech, wonderful man. An inspiration to all.
If you like that sort of thing. I got the feeling he was saying what the students wanted to hear, not what he really believed.
I may be wrong, he may have been a sincere man. You have to remember he was probably being paid for appearances so in that respect he had to keep them up.
Sad that he’s gone though. He was a likable individual.
The man was a great man. If there were certain things he had to do because his reputation preceded him then so be it.
It doesn’t take away his genius.
I find it difficult to be critical of a man who produced so much and helped change the world.
How can anybody knock him?
Okay, he had his appearances to keep up but from what I could see he genuinely believes what he says.
