3 Ways to Remove The Fear of Failure
Time to read: 42 seconds

Naked Leader Week 1025 – 29 May 2023
It stops us in our tracks – the fear that it may go wrong, will embarrass us in front of others, and then we would be…a failure.
And all of this has happened just by thinking about it while trying to get to sleep!
So many peoples, teams and organisations dreams die long before anyone has actually taken any action!!
This is not only emotional – after all the saddest words of all are surely ‘if only, it might have been’ – it is also totally illogical – I mean, how do you know, actually know, if you will succeed, or fail, unless you do something and see what happens?
So, 3 proven ways to remove the fear of failure:
1. Redefine it – I know several leaders who define ‘failure’ in a way that makes them laugh – for example, as a 6 inch high Irish Leprechaun who collapses in giggles any time the word is mentioned.
2. Count your successes each and every day – from waking up to going to bed, scientists reckon we achieve success – defined as achieving an outcome – thousands of times each day – keep a Happy Book to record your achievements.
3. Next time you have a fear, instead of fighting it, or reasoning with it, welcome it in with a silent, warm and loving ‘thank you’ – and just as you read this right now, the fear, indeed all fears, will quieten, dissolve and disappear.
That’s right – very good.
With my love and best wishes to you all
